The Scottish Power Priority Services Register is a register set up to identify vulnerable ScottishPower customers and help them to get the most out of their energy service. The register includes individuals living in households. Once registered, Scottish Power customers may be able to benefit from additional services that are either complimentary or free.

To register for Priority Services, someone in your household will need to:

• Have a disability;
• Have a chronic illness;
• Be over 60;
• Be dependent on medical equipment;
• Be blind or partially sighted;
• Be deaf or hard of hearing;
• Have another special need.

Being on the Priority Services Register does not mean that in the event of service disruption, you will get priority over other customers. However, Scottish Power does state that they will proactively contact you if they know there is a problem in your area.

Priority Services from Scottish Power

Once registered, Scottish Power customers may be able to benefit from the following services:

– Free gas safety check

All customers on the Priority Services Register can benefit from free annual gas safety checks by Scottish Power.

– Password service

The password service is an extra security measure for vulnerable customers. You can set a password that’s held on Scottish Power computer systems which any Scottish Power engineer or representative must quote when they visit your home.

– Alternative billing information

Scottish Power can provide you with information in Braille, large print, compact disc and audio cassette to help you understand your account better.

– Protected Service Scheme

The Protected Service Scheme allows you to nominate another person to handle your account. This vastly reduces the risk of not paying a bill on time or missing a switchover. The Protected Service Scheme is free of charge.
