Customers of npower that are moving to a new home, do have the option of moving their direct debit. It is possible for many customers to avoid setting up a new monthly direct debit entirely. This is done by simply transferring specific information that allows you to avoid having to set up a new direct debit when you move.

However, before this information can be transferred, it is important that al information on your account be checked for accuracy. This means that certain details of your account will need to be checked individually before this information can be transferred to a new direct debit.

When to call?

When you are going to move, it is important that you call within 10 days of your moving date. Do not call too far in advance or more than 10 days after. After you call, npower will take a look at your account and give you any information that you may need. Moving your direct debit might not require any additional steps. However, if additional steps are required for your direct debit to be moved, you will be informed of the information that you need to submit. If your direct debit needs to be changed, you will be notified right away.

Has it been more than 10 days?

If you have moved more than 10 days ago, I tis still possible to call and find out what needs to be done to have your direct debit moved. All you have to do is call in and npower will look over your account. They will notify you if there are things that you need to do to change your account.

The process is simple and easy for most customers that move, but there are instances when changes will need to be made and steps will need to be taken to alter your direct debit. When you are notified by npower of changes that need to be made, you need to make them fast. This will ensure that all problems are avoided.

Getting ready to move

When you call, the information that you need to have on-hand includes your name, new address, moving date, new address and meter readings. This is simple information that you need to have available when you call to make the process smoother and ensure that you get the information that you require.
